ASML raises AEX price: investors opt for AI again

The AEX price makes a jump on Friday and owes that increase, among other things, to a strong day for ASML and the other chippers.

ASML raises AEX price: investors opt for AI again

The AEX price seems to end the stock market week with a nice increase. At the time of writing, there is an increase of 0.69 percent. As a result, the AEX is once again approaching its all-time high. Part of that increase can again be attributed today to ASML, which once again manages to put an increase of more than 2 percent on the signs.

Although headlines this week were again dominated by the rise in US bond yields, investors are once again opting for AI stocks. They are giving the market the benefit of the doubt for the time being, and are betting on the scenario in which AI shares can bear the higher interest rates.

ASML has already risen to almost 1,540 euros per share. With that price, it is starting to gain positive momentum again and the all-time high of almost 1,750 euros is coming back into the picture.

In addition to the increase at ASML, we are also seeing increases among the other chippers today. Although for BESI and ASMI it is about climbs of about 1 percent. Slightly less, but still green figures in a week that should not be in the market's favour from a macroeconomic point of view.

In the short term, oil prices in particular appear to be important for Wall Street prices.

Reports are slowly but surely coming through from the Middle East about negotiations between the United States and Iran. Earlier this week, Trump spoke of good talks between the two camps at a UN meeting.

Iran then announced that a peace was in the hands of the United States, and that they had made a proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days. Provided that the United States wishes to comply with the requirements of Iran.

In the scenario of peace, the price of oil could fall rapidly, and with it bond yields. In the short term, this could provide considerable relief on the financial markets, and thus also for the AEX price.
