How we handle your data on CoinNews.
We designed this site to work without accounts and without third-party tracking. Below is exactly what we store and why.
What we collect
- Server logs — IP address, user agent, requested URL. Used only for abuse prevention and debugging. Retained for up to 30 days.
- Anonymous rating signals — when you up- or down-vote an article, we store a one-way fingerprint (hash of IP + user agent + accept-language) and a hashed IP to prevent double voting. This cannot be reversed to identify you.
- Local browser storage — theme preference, recent searches, and calculator settings. Stored in your browser, never sent to our servers.
What we do NOT do
- We do not use third-party advertising networks.
- We do not embed third-party tracking pixels or fingerprinting scripts.
- We do not sell or share personal data.

Your rights
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of any personal data we may hold. Because we do not link most data to identifiable individuals, in practice there is usually nothing to delete — but you can always write to privacy@coinnews.space.
Changes
We will update this page whenever the way we handle data changes. The date of the last revision is always visible in the footer of this site as part of the "© YYYY" line.
