AEX price rises thanks to ASML and Ferrari Group

The AEX started Thursday with green figures. Among other things, thanks to increases at ASML and Ferrari Group.

AEX price rises thanks to ASML and Ferrari Group

Following the US central bank's interest rate hike, the AEX price has started to rise on the new stock market day. That is special, because you would normally expect a stricter central bank to create a depressed sentiment on the stock market. Now we see the opposite happening.

Ferrari Group is the biggest winner on the Dutch stock exchange. Contrary to what you might think, this is not about the famous car brand. Ferrari Group is a party that arranges the transport and logistics of extremely valuable goods.

With an increase of about 6 percent, this company has made a very good start to the new trading day. The big question, of course, is whether they can sustain this. Especially now that global bond yields have risen sharply and that will put pressure on the global economy in the long term.

In addition, ASML is doing well today. The company, which plays a crucial role in the global chip chain, is increasing by more than 1 percent. Although it is a smaller increase, this is perhaps even more important for the AEX than the increase of Ferrari Group.

This is the case because ASML has a much heavier weighting in the stock market index. It is a much larger company and thus plays a much larger role in the price movement of the AEX than Ferrari Group.

Although the AEX opened today with an increase of about 0.30 percent, there is no outbreak yet. The Dutch stock market index is still trading close to the all-time high of around 1,120 points, but the real positive momentum is currently lacking.

Above all, it remains to be seen whether the market will continue to maintain confidence in the AI investment cycle. Even if it turns out that bond yields remain at the current elevated levels for a longer period of time. The question is, of course, whether the huge investments will continue to yield sufficient returns to compensate for those higher interest rates.
