Palantir Rises to Highest Rate in Nearly a Year: Here's Why

Palantir's course will rise to new heights in 2026. Why are investors getting excited about this tech company again?

Palantir Rises to Highest Rate in Nearly a Year: Here's Why

Palantir is once again one of the proverbial eye-catchers on Wall Street. The stock rose above $190 this week, reaching its highest level in almost a year. On Wednesday alone, the price rose by more than 3.5 percent.

There are several developments behind this increase. At the same time, Palantir is expanding its presence with governments, defence and commercial companies. Exactly that combination seems to make investors enthusiastic again.

CEO Alex Karp spoke with the presidents of Poland and Lithuania this week. These included new investments and possible technology hubs on NATO's eastern flank. Lithuania even sees itself as a possible regional centre for defence and security technology.

That ties in well with another important development. The U.S. military gave Palantir a $48.1 million contract to modernize ammunition management. Nine existing systems need to be replaced with a single platform for planning, storage and distribution.

As a result, Palantir continues to benefit greatly from higher defence spending and the growing demand for software that can process large amounts of data.

However, Palantir is now much more than a defence company. For example, Chipotle confirmed that it is testing a platform based on Palantir's Foundry software for food safety.

The software combines inspection results and other health data to more quickly identify potential issues at individual restaurants. That may sound less spectacular than military AI.

But it is precisely these types of applications that are important for the story around Palantir. They show that the technology can also be used outside governments and the defence sector.

In addition, Palantir announced partnerships with Nvidia, Nebius and Method Security this week. The cooperation with Fujitsu in Japan is also being expanded. The market sees this as further proof that Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform is being used more and more widely.

UBS and DA Davidson then increased their price targets to $250. Both point, among other things, to the accelerating adoption of the AI platform and the demand for so-called sovereign AI.

That is the big question now. The price is not far from that limit and the news flow remains positive. But ultimately, all those partnerships and contracts must also be visible in turnover and profit.

For now, the market is rewarding Palantir for its growing role in AI, defense and business. The step towards 200 dollars therefore seems close. Whether the share can continue after that depends mainly on whether the enormous expectations are actually reflected in the figures.
