AEX turns green again: ASML and ASMI rise, Randstad +18%

The AEX course is turning light green today. On Wednesday morning, the Amsterdam stock market index opens with a cautious rise. It looks like investors aren't ready to throw the AI story all the way into the trash. There has been some doubt about the AI cycle recently, but good figures from SpaceX provide fresh courage.

Partly because of this, we are seeing the Dutch chippers increase considerably today. ASML manages to record an increase of more than 1 percent and the same goes for ASMI.

For the time being, the earnings season on the stock market is strong and the market is benefiting from it. SpaceX increased by 8 percent after its quarterly figures and Super Micro even managed to book a 16 percent increase.

As a result, the party started early this morning in Asia. There, the Nikkei in Tokyo rose by more than 1 percent and the South Korean Kospi even rose by almost 3 percent.

This also results in green figures in Europe. The AEX rises cautiously, while the chippers thus become more positive again.

Although the chippers are thus causing the AEX to rise again, it is another party that steals the show on the stock exchange in the Netherlands. The large Randstad managed to book an increase of almost 18 percent during the first trading hours of Wednesday morning.

The company's revenue grew a lot faster than expected by 3.9 percent, compared to the 2.9 percent analysts were counting on. Although the margins were slightly lower than expected, the profit was higher than the number the experts were counting on.

All in all, there was ultimately a result that caused Randstad's stock market price to explode this morning.

Nevertheless, the impact on the AEX is not very large. Randstad has a market value of around 7 billion euros. While ASML has a market value of 571 billion euros.
