Crypto price update: Bitcoin crashes to critical level, Zcash loses 14%

It's a blood-red day in the crypto market today. Bitcoin (BTC) has fallen to its lowest level in more than two weeks and will now have to do everything in its power to prevent a further correction.

Altcoins are already having a bad day and hope that Bitcoin can now gather enough strength to bounce back.

In this price update, we will tell you exactly how the crypto market is currently doing.

This is already the fourth day in a row that Bitcoin is falling in value. The rising oil price in particular is causing the red figures today, as is the case on the stock markets. And that is again due to Donald Trump considering resuming "large-scale combat operations" in Iran.

Bitcoin tapped the $83,400 mark last night, but is now trading for $81,000. And that hasn't happened since September 21.

This is a decrease of almost 3 percent. And that has brought the price back to an important support level, as can be seen in the chart below. This is the moment when the bulls have to make themselves heard again.

The positive thing is that a hidden bullish divergence now seems to be emerging. The Relative Strength Index (RSI), a well-known momentum indicator, drops to a new low while the price is at a higher low.

Long positions have already been liquidated for 862 million dollars in the past 24 hours. Leverage traders who bet on a rise have thus accelerated the decline. A bright spot is that most liquidity is now above the current price level.

The sales pressure from America is increasing again. The Bitcoin price at Coinbase is much lower than elsewhere.

And we have already seen this reluctance reflected in the dramatic results of US Bitcoin funds. Yesterday almost half a billion dollars flowed away, and probably a large sum will disappear today.

At the time of writing, the BTC price is at $81,591, 1.67 percent higher than 24 hours ago. In euros, 72,804 are now paid for the largest crypto.

A large majority of the market turns red today and altcoins have it a lot heavier than Bitcoin.

Ethereum is lost 3.92 percent, XRP 4.77 percent, Solana (SOL) 5.96 percent and Hyperliquid (HYPE) 5.06 percent. Privacy currency Zcash (Zec) is already going all the way with a minus of 14.58 percent.

There is still some green to be seen here and there. Below are the biggest top 100 risers of the past 24 hours:
