The chipmaker sees adjusted gross margin for the third quarter at the upper end of Wall Street’s estimates. Plus, Johnson & Johnson will spend $55 billion in the US over the next four years on manufacturing, research and development, and tech investments. That marks a 25% increase in investment compared to the previous four years. And finally, AstraZeneca will invest $2.5 billion in a new research center in Beijing, in a show of confidence, months after a top executive from the company was detained there by authorities. This is AstraZeneca’s second strategic R&D center in China, and it will feature advanced early-stage research and clinical development enabled by an AI and data science lab.
