Time now for what to watch, Thursday, April 10th. Going to start off on the tariff front. Trade war with China is continuing tomorrow. China’s 34% tariff on US imports set to take effect tomorrow, making the total 84% for imports from the US. President Trump announcing earlier today on Truth Social that the tariff on China is 125% effective immediately.

Also taking a look at the economy. Remember, fresh inflation data coming out in the morning with CPI. That’s the Consumer Price Index. Economist forecast total CPI will slow down in March to 0.1%, while core CPI takes up to 0.3% on a month-over-month basis.

And moving over to the Fed, we’re going to be getting a big batch of Fed commentary throughout the day from multiple Fed officials. This is coming off her comments earlier today from Richmond Fed president Tom Barkin. Barkin saying that price hikes from tariffs could start as early as June.

And finally, CarMax is reporting earnings tomorrow. The company announcing results for its fourth quarter before the market’s open. Investors will listen closely for any new guidance from the used car retailer, as it navigates a tariff landscape with rising prices for cars and auto parts.
